The Brand Ambassador’s role is to engage and build strategic partnerships with top influencer outlets, consumers and media, by bringing the Macallan “world” to life in our key cities Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. The Macallan Brand Ambassador is required to inspire, educate and recruit these audiences with unique and impactful experiences.

As a secondary focus, Benelux Brand Ambassador supports major brand initiatives, targeted sales and key trade education. The role will be based in Amsterdam and involve travel within the region of location and occasionally to Scotland to liaise with the global brand team and host key influencer visits. The Macallan Brand ambassador will create new relationship with both leading accounts, high net worth individuals and key / important the Macallan collectors, bringing a new level of “Quiet Luxury” service. It is vital that the Brand Ambassador embodies the essence of the brand in both appearance, behaviour and delivery of key brand messages.


Job Responsibilities

The Benelux Brand Ambassador is the face of The Macallan brand in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg and responsible for the education and engagement of bartenders, consumers, media and internal/ stakeholders. Working closely with the NL and BE Brand Managers to do deliver and support and evaluate the broader brand priorities and activations and adapt to the strategy when required. They will help to drive an increase in The Macallan’s ‘saliency’, as measured by the bi-annual brand health tracker.

Specifically, they are accountable for (but not limited to): 

Consumer Facing

  • Acting as our in-market authority on The Macallan brand, prestige category and the conduction of whisky tastings, education and unique experiences.
  • Representing The Macallan at top media, consumer and trade events.
  • Find, inspire and build influencer network to maximise exposure for the brand.
  • Build a network of HNWI contacts, understanding who are the key collectors of high end / fine & rare Whisky and ensure the brand is talking to them directly.
  • Host inspiring events to ensure a life-lasting and meaningful relationship with The Macallan.

Trade Facing

  • Driving awareness and education of The Macallan sales and trade partners, ensuring front of mind presence and selling confidence of The Macallan at key accounts.
  • Support and build a direct relationship with key on-trade accounts for the Macallan, ensuring brand visibility through menu listings, signature serves, POS and events.
  • Education and engagement of (influential) bartenders in influential premium outlets. 

Knowledge, Skills & Core Competencies Required

  • A background in the drinks industry and a strong understanding of hospitality and luxury consumer goods.
  • Excellent Whisky category knowledge and passion for the Macallan brand, with a track record of training / Ambassadorial duties with the ability to highly engage an audience and present with passion, confidence & clarity.
  • Aligned to the Macallan brand values.
  • An entrepreneur, organised, structured, self-starter with precise attention to detail.
  • An innate ability to communicate with all types; from super high net worth individuals to new consumers.
